Baha'i Holy Days

There following nine days in the Baha'i calendar are set aside to be observed as Holy Days, on which work is suspended. These Holy days are celebrations and commemorations of important events in the lives of the central figures of the Baha'i Faith, such as the festival of Ridvan and Naw-Ruz:

The Bahá’í New Year* (Naw-Rúz) — March 20
First Day of Ridván* — April 20
Ninth Day of Ridván* — April 28
Twelfth Day of Ridván* — May 1
Declaration of the Báb* — May 23
Ascension of Bahá'u'lláh* — May 28
Martyrdom of the Báb* — July 9
Birth of the Báb* — November 1
Birth of Bahá'u'lláh* — November 2
